Sewing Bug...

My Mom got a Nook and wanted a cover for it.  I got the sewing bug going again even though I tend to be a little hesitant because I don't feel all that comfortable sewing yet.  But, I gave it a whirl and this is what I came up with.  I LOVE the material and think it turned out pretty cute considering I did not have a pattern and just kind of made it up as I went.  My appliqued flower struggled a little bit but it still turned out cute.

Memory Games

My sweet little niece was in a half body cast due to a broken bone in her thigh.  She couldn't really do much besides sit and lay around which is really hard for a little four year old.  So, I made her a memory game.  I did not use my cricut for this one and instead used my digital scrapbooking on my computer.  She loved it.

Christmas Gifts

For Christmas I wanted to make my nieces little activity bags for church.  I am not all that experienced when it comes to sewing but I think these turned out pretty cute.

Elder Flat Stanley

I sent my brother, who is on a mission in Mexico, a Flat Stanley.  Did anyone else do this when they were young?  My brother really enjoyed Flat Stanley when he was little so I thought I would bring back some of the fun by sending an Elder Flat Stanley.

Christmas Beauty

Do any of you out there just love the Christmas Story?  It is one of my favorite classic Christmas movies.  When we were younger my parents would drive us around to look at Christmas lights every year.  We would get in our jammies, snuggle up in blankets in the car, sip our hot cocoa, and listen to Christmas music on the radio while we went scouting for some awesome Christmas lights.  One year we were driving through a neighborhood and a house had a leg lamp in the window instead of a Christmas Tree.  My Dad LOVED it!  He talked about getting one for years but never did.  This year the ol' man turned 50 so my Mom decided it would be fun to suprise him with a leg lamp they could use for Christmas.  I was given the assigment to make him a card and this is what I came up with.  I found the leg lamp picture online and cut it out.  Then I made it look like it was sitting in the window.  My Dad really loved it!  It did turn out pretty cool.

You can't really tell in the picture but there is clear plastic in front to make it look like a window.

Halloween Project

I went to a craft show here in Utah and saw this cute little wood ghost cut out and decided I could do something really cute with it.  I modge podged some paper on to the wood to give it a cute design.  I then used My Pink Stampers Stamps to stamp the sentiment on it.  Added some ribbon that I bought at Michael's and wa-la!  I have a cute little ghost.  I made one for me and one for my Mom.  She loved it!

Drum Roll Please....

I have officially started a new craft blog!

I am hoping that this blog with get the creative juices flowing out there in crafters land.  I want it to inspire others to create and craft.

Crafting has always been a favorite of mine but I tend to be critical of my work.  I have enjoyed seeing the changes I have gone through as a crafter and the skills I have picked up have come from blog hopping to some of my favorite crafting websites.  It makes me a little nervous to put my work online for the public to see but I do want to share my love for crafting.

The cricut crave started because of my very sweet and amazing husband.  I am so thankful for him and for the love and support he has for me!  He is so good to get excited about my different projects and tell me how talented I am.  I sure got lucky when I met him!  This is a shout out to my hubs!  Thank you for the cricut for my birthday!  Best Gift EVER!!!

Please feel free to follow along on my crafting journey!
