Is Crafty Starkie still alive!?!

The answer is yes...

Barely.

We have been so SUPER busy at my home.  Well, I don't even know if busy is the right word.  It has just been crazy, weird, and busy.  We have had SOOOO many sicknesses between my husband and myself over the past several months - to name a few: bronchitis, stomach flu, pink eye, strep throat, common cold, viruses... you get the idea.  YUCKY!  Pure misery!  We also had other things going on in our crazy sickly lives.  We had some family business to attend to.  Holidays.  A super messy cluttered craft room that still needs a little help.  (sigh)  I have missed crafting so much and I am anxious to get back to it.  I have done small little projects here and there dealing with fabric paint of fabric vinyl but I always forget to take pictures so I don't have any to show you.  I still LOVE Cam!  He is wonderful and I have not regretted getting him for one second.

I would now like to take some time to thank Nicole, you may know her as Teachdanz, for sending me a very cute email.  I am so happy to hear that people actually care and wonder how I am doing and where I have been.  So thank you Nicole!  I really appreciate you taking the time to email me and let me know you were thinking of me.  I need to get back to looking at craft blogs and crafting.  I feel like I am so out of touch with things and I am anxious to see all your posts out there in crafting land.

Well I can say that I actually did take some pictures of a craft recently done.  It was not made by my hands though.  I supplied all the tools needed but all the creativity and craftiness came from my sweet nieces and nephew.  My husband and I were in charge of keeping our nieces and nephew entertained for the night.  I decided it would be really cool if they made their parents some kind of valentine bouquet filled with love notes and plenty of treats.  So, of coarse, I had to turn to my handy dandy Cam man to help me get the job done.  I think it turned out pretty great if I say so myself.  If I were their parents I would LOVE it!

Ta-Da!  Cool huh?  They did EVERYTHING!  They even chose where to stick all there cute creations in the bucket.

Keep in mind all this talent came from one three year old, two five year olds, and a nine year old.  They are so crafty aren't they?

I cut everything out on white cardstock so they could use all the creativity with their coloring!

This was such a big hit with the kiddos that apparently when my husband and I babysit we, "definitely know how to BABYSIT!!!" (insert totally cool tone of voice with a big cheesy smile)

We all know that they got to eat whatever candy I brought! (shhh... I love to spoil them... Don't tell their parents.  I am sure they do not appreciate their kids sugar high)  There was plenty of giggles, admiration for each others projects, and munching on candy.

I am so glad I get to be an Aunt.  I love it!

P.S. I found all the flower shapes and butterfly shapes on the Silhouette online store.

Be expecting some upcoming projects.  I am in the mood to get crafty!

Confessions of a Craftaholic...

To all my crafty friends out there...

I have a confession...

I have not crafted lately because my craft room is a disaster!  Yes!  DISASTER!!!  We had to move some furniture into my craft room; which I can maneuver around to get to my crafty area. However, once you weave your way through the maze of furniture you are then confronted with a serious mess of ribbon, paper, glue, fabric, flowers, scissors, markers, stamps, and all other matters of craftiness.  It seriously looks like some kind of ravenous crafting beast went on a rampage through my craft room.  It's such a joke how messy it is!  It almost make me think of that hoarders show; my room is that bad.  I am not even sure how that mess was accomplished! 

My confession is: I cannot create in a cluttered mess!  I just cannot bring myself to do it!  All my crafty juices cease to flow through my crafty brain...  And, apparently I do not want to deal with the mess either...  What is a crafty girl to do?  I guess I will have to suck it up and clean my room so that I can craft away.  Yuck!  I hate cleaning sometimes...

So once I clean I promise there will be some projects being posted. 

Don't hold your breath though... (hee hee)

Super Saturday Craft

First off... let me explain Super Saturday to those who may not know what they are.  I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and a lot of wards in our church have what is called Super Saturday.  Basically it is where a whole bunch of women get together to do crafts on a certain Saturday of the year.  It involves lots of crafting, eating, and chatting.  It is a lot of fun!  You do not even need to be a member to come join in on the fun so if you know a member ask them about it and I am sure they would be happy to invite you to one!

So a couple Saturdays ago my Mom asked if I wanted to come to her ward's Super Saturday.  Of coarse I told her I would love to and signed up for my craft.  I must say that I had a lot of fun!  It was really quite enjoyable and I liked how my project turned out.  Mind you, I still need to put a couple finishing touches on but I think you will get the gist of what it should look like.

So basically it is a Welcome sign you hang by ribbon on your door and you have different tiles for each season, holiday, etc.  Cute right?  All it took for this project was wood, hooks, vinyl, and paint.  Which got me thinking that it would be super easy for all you crafters out there to accomplish something like this of your own.  If you own a Cricut or a Silhouette then you could easily do it!  I hope it adds some inspiration.  I sure had fun putting it together!

1st EVER project with Cam!!!

Oh, Cam, you are my little gentleman. I'll take you to foggy London town 'cause you are my little gentleman... (for some reason Anchorman was in my head)  ha ha!  I know... I am a little crazy sometimes but everyone has some crazy in them right?... says the crazy girl.

Anywhosie... like I said in my previous post, the first project I did was for the hubs.  I feel really bad that I cannot rememeber the name of the font I used on my Mac.  My husband picked it out and I was not paying very close attention as he decided.

**** Pssst:  I think I was secretly letting my brain wander onto what project I wanted to try next.  Shhhh!  Don't tell.  As far as he knows I was giving him my  full attention.  ;o) tee hee!***

Well that is enough rambling from me.  Time to start showing the project I did using Cam.

*** Correction:  Thanks to Krafting Kelly, I now know the name of the font I used.  It is Copperplate Gothic Bold and we made it eight inches wide.  Thank you Krafting Kelly!

We used freezer paper and fabric paint.  There are many you tube videos with freezer paper if you are interested on how to do it.
